Join us for the first-ever Freedom Harvest Celebration in the From Slavery to Freedom Garden, outside of the Frick Environmental Center on Saturday, September 7! Come down with the entire family for a free community event from 1:00-4:00 P.M. honoring the bounty of the garden and celebrating the emancipation of enslaved peoples in America. The garden is a rich educational resource, filled with essential crops that were used on the route to freedom.
Enjoy a vibrant day of soulful live musical performances, family-friendly activities and story hikes, nature-inspired crafts, scrumptious garden bites from local chefs, community organizations, and more.
🌱 🌿 🌾The Freedom Harvest is free and open to all, but select events require registration, so check out https://pittsburghparks.org/harvestcelebration/ for more details!
