Whether the company gets sold or not, and to whom, the current owner is a long-time American company, U.S. Steel, a company that has failed to invest in its Mon Valley operations in favor of spending over $6 Billion in Arkansas in non-union mills.
The Edgar Thomson Works is 147 years old, and as with the other Mon Valley mills operated by U.S. Steel, has been poorly maintained.
All of us in Allegheny County and beyond are paying the true price for the existence of this company through diminished health, and sadly, in the premature deaths of far too many of our family and friends
Our next Town Hall, May 22, 7pm on Zoom, will explore the impact that our toxic air, much of it due to U.S. Steel, has had on our health and well being.
Sincerely,
